Continuing Medical Education (CME) for EMS Providers

The Emergency Medical Institute offers a 100% on-line Continuing Medical Education (CME) Core Content Renewal Program.

EMI is committed to working with local EMS agencies to ensure that core CME is available,

convenient, and receptive to the needs of those individuals that provide pre-hospital emergency medical care.

The 3-Year Continuing Medical Education (CME) Recertification Program is an independent, agency-driven

program that is dependent upon the provider satisfying all learning components.

Submission of CME recertification is the responsibility of a provider’s agency.

EMI is not responsible for the submission of program documentation to the New York State DOH Bureau of EMS.

The Emergency Medical Institute will offer Core CME for EMT, EMT-CC, and Paramedic recertification on a continual basis.

In accordance with New York State Department of Health Policy, CME program applicants affiliated with agencies that are not

approved by the New York State DOH Bureau of EMS will not be permitted to participate in the CME recertification program.

Our Core Content CME Programs are offered on-line through our proprietary web-based Learning Management Platform.

To be eligible for this program, a participant's agency must be approved by the

New York State DOH Bureau of EMS to participate in a 100% on-line learning program.

Suffolk County EMS agencies that have a binding MOU with Suffolk EMS are NOT eligible to participate.

To learn how your agency can become approved for 100% on-line CME, please send an inquiry to: CMECoordinator@LearnEMT.org
